From photo to painting

My paintings are usually produced from own photographs taken on walks or vacation trips. These photos taken on a walk along the Mulde River near Bad Düben were the basis for the development of the oil painting. Individual layers of oil paints are applied to the canvas and need to dry for a few days or up to several weeks before the last layer of paint can form the foreground. After the oil painting has thoroughly dried a final varnish is applied in order to protect the painting's colours and surface.
